Shelley Lynch, MSn, NP-BC, APRN, CCRN
Shelley is the founder of ACLS Academy and has been teaching AHA courses since 2001. Shelley has 20 years experience in critical care and currently practices in Boston. She received her Masters in Nursing Education and a Certificate after Graduate Studies as a Nurse Practitioner. Shelley is a 2018 recipient of the Nurse Hero Award at Fenway Park in Boston. Along with being an ACLS, PALS, and BLS instructor, Shelley is also AHA Training Center Faculty for all disciplines and teaches instructor classes.
Jenny Chen, MD
Jenny is a physician in the ED at Winchester Hospital. She attended Boston University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Chen did her internship with the United States Navy. Jenny works with PALS and ACLS certification and recertification courses. She is also a CTLS instructor.
Peggy Lahar, MSN, RN
Peggy has been an RN for 44 years with over 20 years in critical care and another 20 years in peri-anesthesia nursing. Peggy has certifications in both critical care and peri-anesthesia nursing. Her current role is resource nurse in a PACU for a community hospital. She is a lifelong learner, having received her AD in 1974, BSN in 1986, MSN in 1999 and a MBA in 2018. Lucky for us, she has been an AHA instructor since 2002 and is one of our top instructors. In her free time, Peggy enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Christopher Gill, phd-c, CRNA, RN
Christopher is a Clinical Coordinator/Staff CRNA at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He is a graduate of the Wayne State University Nurse Anesthesia Program in Detroit, Michigan where he obtained his Master of Science in Anesthesia. His critical care experience was completed in the Trauma Unit of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. His professional interests include pharmacology and health policy. Besides being a CRNA, Chris is also a practicing paramedic.
kristine dicarlo, mSn, RN-bc, c-mnn
Kristine DiCarlo, MSN, RN-BC, C-MNN is the Unit Based Nurse Educator for the Birthplace and Continuing Care Nursery at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She has over 16 years’ experience as a maternity nurse. Kristine is Board Certified in Nursing Professional Development and Certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Framingham State University in 2017. She has been teaching NRP for over 7 years.
Caitlin Bean, BS, RN
Caitlin has a bachelor's degree from UMass Boston and has been a bedside nurse for 7 years at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The past four years of her practice have been in the ICU. Caitlin is one of our ACLS and BLS instructors teaching both the didactic and the skills sessions. Caitlin has one cat. For now. We are exciting to announce that Caitlin will be furthering her degree to become an acute care NP
Jenna Sarruda, BS, RN
Jenna has been a Registered Nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 2005 after graduating from Salem State University. Jenna has a Bachelor of Science In Nursing, and joined the Cardiovascular ICU in 2007. Jenna is the night resource nurse for the unit, and is also a certified ECMO specialist.
Jaime Meighan, BS, RN
Jaime is a Registered Nurse in the intensive care unit at South Shore Hospital. She graduated from Curry College in 2011 and is currently enrolled in Southern New Hampshire University to earn her MSN in nursing education. Jaime joined the ACLS Academy team in the spring of 2017. She loves bringing her nursing experiences to the classroom to help students better understand what they are learning. Jaime Meighan recently became Training Center Faculty for BLS and has become an ACLS Instructor.
Elizabeth (liz) bersell, bsn, rn
Liz has returned back to the Boston area after spending the last few years working in the AHA Training Center at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She is currently an ICU nurse at BWH. She is a very experienced instructor and we are happy she has joined our dynamic team. She is an ACLS, PALS, and BLS Instructor.
samantha turvey, BSN, RN
Samantha is an experienced BLS instructor. Prior to taking her school nurse role and receiving her MBA, she worked with MGH in their AHA program. Sam is a unit manager of a Sub Acute Unit. She has been a nurse for over 20 years. She teaches BLS and Heartsaver.
Taylor Bilyak, EMT
Taylor is in her final year at UMass Boston’s Bachelor of Science in Exercise Health Science. Her future plans include becoming a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. When Taylor isn’t teaching, she is either in school, working as a EMT, or playing on the UMass Boston’s soccer team. Taylor teaches Heartsaver and BLS courses.
Sarah Morse, BSN, RN
Sarah is emergency room RN at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and also has experience as an ICU Nurse. She is a BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor.
gina damiata, BSN, RN
Gina is emergency room RN at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and also has experience working in the float pool. She is certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. She is a BLS Instructor.
Angela Peters, BSN, RN
Angela has her first BS in Psychology at Northeastern University before returning to nursing school. She graduated Dean's List at Northeastern University with her Bachelors in Science in Nursing. She has worked at Massachusetts Eyes and Ear Infirmary. She currently works as a Emergency Room RN at Massachusetts General Hospital. Angela is an AHA Instructor in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Jenna Kennaly, bsn, RN
Jenna finished her last year of nursing school at UMass Dartmouth and has been working as a healthcare provider for the past 5 years. Jenna has been an ED tech at MetroWest Medical Center for the last 3.5 years and has been working at Tufts Medical Center on the Cardiomyopathy Unit for the last year as a nurse tech.
Christine Rooney, MSN, APRN, CNS
Christine Rooney - Christine is a Masters prepared Clinical Nurse Specialist specializing in adult critical care. She has over 10 years experience working as a nurse and CNS in the Trauma SICU at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Kerry Regan, BS, RN
Kerry has been teaching with ACLS Academy for over two years, teaching BLS and Heartsaver classes. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2011 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nursing Education. Kerry is a neuro critical care nurse at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and enjoys bringing her experiences to the classroom.
Tricia Vitori BS, RN, CCRN
Tricia has a 20+ year experience in critical care. She originates in Florida, but was a travel ICU nurse for over 20 years before settling in Boston. She has worked in hospitals both nationally and internationally in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in the NICU. Tricia teaching BLS, ACLS, and PALS. She a a natural teacher and loves to teach PALS. When Tricia isn’t working, you can find her with her passport in hand traveling the world.
Chad Lynch, MBA
Chad has over a 20 year career in business operations in Boston and is currently in the United States Coast Guard. Chad grew up coaching and instructing in various capacities and has a passion for marine protection and safety. Chad’s experience makes him a natural fit as an instructor for both Heartsaver and BLS. When Chad is not working, you can find him chasing his 3 boys or out on the water.
Kristi Coleman is our marketing specialist. She graduated from Hartwick College with a business degree and has 20 years experience working in both private and non-profit sectors. Kristi swam competitively throughout college and finds passion in coaching/tutoring.
