Basic Life Support (BLS)

Basic Life Support provides those in the healthcare industry or healthcare students the instruction for CPR & AED use. The course teaches single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both pre-hospital and in-facility environments. 

Our Basic Life Support (BLS) course covers the following:

  • CPR for adults, children, and infants. 

  • The importance of early use of AED.

  • Ventilation using a barrier device. 

  • The importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and importance of an effective team member. 

  • Relief of foreign body airway obstruction for adults and children.

Variations of the Course

  • BLS Course $95: Instructor led traditional course

  • BLS Update Course $95: Instructor led traditional course

    (We run the initial and update courses simultaneously. You are given the opportunity to test out your skills earlier and sit for the exam earlier.

  • BLS Skills Session $75: The skills sessions are the hands-on component, that combined with the online modules done directly through the American Heart Association, provide BLS course completion. The hands-on sessions are done in our facility and are led by AHA instructors. The sessions focus on performing CPR & AED on mannequins for single and multi-rescue scenarios. Skills sessions cannot be completed without first completing the online modules and providing course completion certificates.

What to Bring

Please arrive 5 minutes early and bring:

  • Valid driver’s license or ID.

ACLS Academy will supply pen, paper, and a folder that includes all of the documents you will need.

After Completion of This Course

After you complete and pass our Basic Life Support (BLS) course, you will be able to provide high-quality CPR to adults, children, and infants, as well as receive your course completion card.
