ACLS Academy 2025: A Year Defined by Leadership, Reach, and Lifesaving Impact

Some years are busy. Others are defining.
For ACLS Academy, this past year was firmly the latter.

Across classrooms, communities, hospitals, schools, and remote regions, ACLS Academy continued to do what it does best: deliver high-quality, evidence-based lifesaving education led by experienced instructors who care deeply about the people they train. From major institutional milestones to grassroots outreach efforts, this year reflected not only growth, but purpose.

By the Numbers: Measuring Impact at Scale

The scope of ACLS Academy’s impact speaks for itself.

Over the past year:

  • 3,341 students were trained directly by ACLS Academy instructors

  • More than 6,500 students were trained by instructors at aligned AHA Training Sites operating under ACLS Academy’s Training Center umbrella

  • 156 instructors now make up the combined ACLS Academy hometown team and aligned Training Site network

  • 1,241 classes were delivered across ACLS Academy’s three training locations

These numbers represent far more than volume. They reflect trust placed in ACLS Academy by healthcare systems, educational institutions, emergency responders, and communities that rely on consistent, high-quality training when it matters most.

Major Accomplishments: Leadership That Sets the Standard

Two milestones this year underscored ACLS Academy’s role as a leader within the resuscitation education space.

One of the most significant achievements was earning a fourth Training Center certification for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). This milestone builds upon ACLS Academy’s existing Training Center certifications for Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS). Maintaining Training Center status requires rigorous compliance, instructor oversight, and unwavering adherence to American Heart Association standards. Achieving a fourth certification is a testament to the depth of pediatric expertise within ACLS Academy’s instructor team and the organization’s operational excellence. It also expands access to pediatric-focused emergency training for providers who care for children when seconds matter most.

Equally impactful was ACLS Academy’s role as an early adopter of the 2025 AHA CPR & ECC Guidelines. While many organizations were still preparing for the transition and teaching to the AHA’s interim guidance, ACLS Academy was already training instructors and students on the latest science. This proactive approach ensured learners were equipped with the most current, evidence-based practices from day one, reinforcing ACLS Academy’s commitment to staying ahead of change rather than reacting to it.

Together, these accomplishments reflect an organization that leads with intention, precision, and confidence.

Investing in the Next Generation of Clinicians

Looking ahead is essential to improving outcomes tomorrow, and this year, ACLS Academy made a meaningful investment in the future of healthcare through large-group training for Physician Assistant students at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS).

Training future clinicians early in their careers helps establish strong clinical foundations, confidence in emergency response, and a deep understanding of teamwork during critical events. Delivering high-volume training while maintaining engagement, consistency, and instructional quality is no small task. ACLS Academy’s ability to do so reflects both logistical expertise and a teaching philosophy rooted in real-world application.

These students will carry their training forward into clinical settings across the region and beyond, extending the impact of this initiative well into the future.

Expanding Reach: Training Where It’s Needed Most

While institutional achievements are important, some of the year’s most powerful moments happened far from traditional classrooms.

Through a pro bono training initiative in the Mississippi Delta, ACLS Academy instructors volunteered their time and expertise to address gaps in access to lifesaving education. In communities where resources are limited, this training has the potential to create lasting change. It reflects ACLS Academy’s belief that geography should never determine access to critical skills.

That same commitment to meeting learners where they are was evident through training for volunteer emergency responders on Block Island. Remote locations present unique challenges, from delayed transport times to limited on-site resources. Preparing volunteer responders in these settings requires adaptability, realism, and deep respect for the environments in which they serve.

Closer to home, ACLS Academy also partnered with Thayer Academy, training over 100 teachers and staff to respond confidently during medical emergencies. Empowering educators and school staff with lifesaving skills strengthens the safety net within school communities and reinforces preparedness where it matters most.

A Year That Reflects the Mission

Taken together, this year’s accomplishments tell a cohesive story.

ACLS Academy led with integrity, invested in its students, embraced innovation, and extended its reach to communities both near and far. Whether training future clinicians, preparing volunteer responders, or adopting new guidelines ahead of the curve, the common thread remained the same: a commitment to excellence in lifesaving education.

As ACLS Academy looks ahead, this year stands as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when expertise, purpose, and heart come together. The impact is measured not only in numbers, but in lives better prepared to act when it matters most.
